Power steering hose blow out
On the way back for a recent
engine change I was alarmed to suddenly lose the power steering on a
roundabout.
The high pressure hose
connecter from the base of the steering pump had blown a large hole and sprayed
hydraulic fluid everywhere.
Fortunately I was able to
get a replacement hose made up by Designation
Ltd who made up a new one in minutes.
After fitting the
replacement hose I topped up the reservoir with 3.1 litres of hydraulic fluid
and the job was done.

Here is a picture of the
damaged hose and the replacement.
